About Us

The First Christian Early Childhood Ministry (ECM) began in 1973 with a small group of children enrolled in a half day program. In a very short time, the need for day care services in the community made an increased enrollment to full capacity possible. We operate as a ministry of First Christian Church on a non-profit basis which allows children in our care to receive the highest quality program at the lowest possible cost. All funds received are used for the benefit of the child: We hire experienced teachers; maintain a safe, clean facility; and acquire the proper equipment necessary for learning.

Our Board

A Board of Directors selected by the Chairman of First Christian Church Board makes policy decisions related to the operation of ECM.

Our purpose is to provide varied experiences which will stimulate the mental, physical, spiritual, emotional and social growth of the children we serve. These experiences take place in a Christian environment with loving, understanding teachers who express Christian ideas and attitudes. In a relaxed atmosphere, your child will learn new skills, make new friends and build a positive self-image that will foster the confidence needed for personal success.

Licensed

We are licensed by the State of Alabama Department of Human Resources and believe that licensing and rigid enforcement of standards is in the best interest of all children.
